There are many museums in Malaga that one can enjoy of. The Academia CILE explains why the Museum of Carmen Thyssen is so important
The Carmen Thyssen Museum (called in Spanish Museo Carmen Thyssen de Málaga) is an art museum located in the heart of the city of Malaga. The art is focused on the paintings of the 19th century and especially on the Andalusian style. This is the best reflected by the collection of Carmen Cervera who was the third wife of Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza.
The collection of Thyssen family was opened to he public at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum of Madrid 23 years ago. Carmen Thyssen, however, has been collecting the paintings separately since 1980 and this is why her collection was displayed separately as well. Malaga is the city that has an honour of hostig her collection. It was sought in a beautiful 16th-century building and it was opened as a museum to the public in 2011.

It now hosts masterpieces of various centuries and of various well-known artists such as Ezquerra or Zurbarán, whose painting “Santa Marina” is one of the most honored. The great part of the collection of the 19th century reflects the colorfulness end enjoys of paintings of many illustrious artists such as Sorolla, Casas, Iturrino, Zuloaga, Julio Romero de Torres, among others.
