Mijas is a town and muicipality in the Provine of Málaga, located in Andalucía in the south of Spain. Mijas town is the historical part of Mijas and is known for the views and the white houses. Being only 30 kilometres away from the centre of Málaga, Mijas is a good option for a day trip. It is a little mountainious with amazing views.

Things to see/do in Mijas:
Little alleys in the city center
Little oval shaped bullring
The rests of the acient arabic wall
El Mirador de la Peña
El Mirador de la Sierra
Restaurants
We decided to go to Mijas Pueblo, because we have heard of the views of this beautiful white city. On Sunday we went there by car. After parking the car, we made our way to the city center, starting to walk uphill. It was not a long walk until we were able to enjoy the first views across the city and the sea.
We strolled through many beautiful little alleys with white houses and light blue flower boxes. Everything is very light, which creates a very positive and happy feeling. Standing at the viewing platforms, taking in the landscape with the city, the mountains and the sea, I was able to let go of everything for a moment and relax for a little bit.
Mijas is known for the ‘Donkey taxis’ (Burro Taxi) taking you from one place to another. However, I strongly reccommend walking around the city by foot. That way you see places that the donkeys wouldn’t take you, for example the little alleys. Also, when walking you can always stop and enjoy the views of Mijas.
After walking for some time, all of us got very hungry and we went to a restaurant to eat something and to rest a for little while. We decided to eat inside, because it was very windy and a little colder than in Málaga. After eating we made our way back to the car and went back to Málaga.
